Vivian N. Avant

Board Member

Vivian N. Avant

Vivian N. Avant has been passionate about hair since she was 16 years old and has worked professionally for the past 8 years as a licensed cosmetologist. Her love for hair began with her sister, whose styling made her feel more confident and empowered.

That experience sparked something in me. I wanted to create that same feeling for others. I started practicing on friends, experimenting with any style they wanted, no matter how challenging. I didn't always get it right the first time, but I stuck with it, determined to grow and improve.

When I found out I was going to be an aunt to two beautiful girls, I knew I had a purpose. Their mother didn't know how to do hair, and I saw this as an opportunity not just to style their hair, but to help build their self-esteem through it. From a young age, they learned the value of self-care and confidence, and today, 17 years later, they're following in my footsteps, styling hair for their friends and siblings.

Through my journey, I've come to believe that hair is more than just appearance, it's a powerful tool for confidence, identity, and self-expression. I'm passionate about mentoring young girls, helping them embrace who they are, and inspiring them to see beauty in themselves, inside and out.
